The all-new 2020 Explorer has been completely redesigned — inside, outside and under the hood. In addition to new capability enhancing features, there are also two new available trims. Explorer now offers a commanding, no-compromise hybrid* as well as the most powerful Explorer to date, the all-new Explorer ST. Once you’re inside the completely redesigned Explorer, you’ll notice an array of available amenities. Interior attributes like tri-diamond perforated leather seating surfaces, a hexagon carbon-fibre-lined dash and a precision-engineered centre console with a rotary gear shift dial fill the cabin with a refined and dignified look.

Available 12.3” Digital Instrumental Panel Cluster with Productivity Screen

Tailor your instrument panel to your drive. With an available 12.3” customizable cluster, standard on the ST and Platinum, Explorer lets you configure the look and function of your driving information.

An Available 10.1” LCD Portrait Touchscreen

An available 10.1” LCD capacitive portrait touchscreen means connectivity at your fingertips. Use it just like your smartphone to get directions, play music or call your friends, plus much more.

Seating when you need it.

Available third-row PowerFold seats make it easy to accommodate both passengers and cargo. With the seats up, the Explorer can carry up to seven passengers. When you don’t need seating for seven, fold them down and make room for cargo.

All-New Hybrid and All-New ST

As part of the redesign, Explorer now offers an all-new hybrid and all-new ST. The athletic look of Explorer ST is more than sheet metal-deep. It’s matched by a powerful 400-hp11 engine, a sport-tuned suspension and driving dynamics engineered by the Ford Performance team. The Explorer Limited packs a similar punch; it has a no-compromise available hybrid option that’s engineered for big adventures. Not only can it tow 5,000 pounds but it’s also fully off-road capable.

Load your gear into the 2020 Explorer and get away for a while. There’s plenty of room for it all. With the PowerFold® third-row seats, you can take advantage of the extra cargo space before heading out on your next big adventure. With the ability to tow up to 5,600 lbs. (2,540 kg), when properly equipped, the Explorer won’t be slowed down, not even if you have a hefty camper in tow. With your choice of three powerful engines, you can trust that your Explorer will get you where you need to go.

Towing and Trailer Sway Control

Building on AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, standard trailer sway control selectively brakes and adjusts engine power to maintain trailer control. The result is stability and control, even when towing large loads. When properly equipped, the Explorer can tow up to 5,600 lbs. The Class III Trailer Tow Package is available with the 2.3L EcoBoost and 3.3L hybrid engines, and comes standard with the 3.0L EcoBoost engine.

Intelligent 4WD with Terrain Management System

The Standard Terrain Management System can help you tackle any adventure through a single easy-to-use dial in the centre console. It’s seven selectable drive modes include Normal, Trail, Deep Snow/Sand, Slippery, Sport, Tow/Haul and new Eco mode. Each drive mode comes with special 3D animated graphics in the new available 12.3” digital cluster.

When you have to get things done, Explorer has your back. Available seating for up to seven means you can get your star player and friends to practice and make great time too. Using Waze inside your Ford vehicle is easier since the much-loved, crowd-sourced navigation and traffic app is now compatible with available SYNC 3 AppLink. By accessing Waze through SYNC 3 AppLink, you can collaborate with other users, outsmarting traffic by sharing information to get the best routes, and receive real-time alerts about accidents, road hazards and traffic jams. Moving Waze to the dash screen allows you to conveniently access the app’s features on a larger display. You can operate Waze through your vehicle’s touchscreen, as well as use voice commands for hands-free control, helping to keep your eyes on the road. Available via iPhone in Ford vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 with software version 3.0. Waze is also available on Android Auto.
